Training  Makana Meadery

Training Local Bee-keepers

Makana Meadery is actively training and empowering prospective bee-keepers from rural areas in the Eastern Cape. The first few groups have already passed through the workshop doors where they are learning the basics of building their own bee-hives and frames while others are already grasping the art of handling and managing bee-hives.

Training for the Trainers

In charge of training is director of Makana Meadery Vuyani Ntantiso and Phumlani Honi. As the company scales up its production of the ancient African mead, managing and training in the large scale bee-keeping operations is a vital component of the company's success and the training and empowerment of new bee-keepers. Vuyani and Phumlani will soon be getting further training in how to manage large-scale bee-keeping operations when they spend a month at Dutchman's Gold, a large bee-keeping group in Ontario, Canada.
